Why choose polarized eyewear?
Surface glare from reflected sunlight off the water can be a serious problem for sailors. When normal, parallel rays of light bounce off flat surfaces like water or the deck housing, they create random light waves. These reflected light waves produce glare that irritates your eyes and distort your vision.
The answer is a polarized lens. This is scientifically engineered to filter out extreme glare and reflections, enhancing visual acuity. They work like microscopic venetian blinds, organizing the light, eliminating glare and reducing eye fatigue. In fact, polarized lenses can reduce glare by up to 99.97%.
All the models of eyewear featured here have high performance, polycarbonate polarized lenses that also provide 100% UV protection from harmful sun’s rays.
Note: while polarized lenses are recommended for day sailing, for yachting you may prefer non-polarized lenses, otherwise you may experience difficulty seeing LCD based navigation displays clearly.
