These stylish photochromic sunglasses come with a host of excellent design features that make them a versatile option for keen sportsmen and leisure users alike.
High performing lenses
The photochromic lenses in the RX TAC-3 are made from shatterproof, ballistic rated polycarbonate with a superior anti-fog silicone hard coating that signficantly reduces fogging up for humid conditions or high-energy activities.
The lenses also have an anti-scratch coating to improve durability and a hydrophobic coating to repel water. The lenses provide 100% UV protection.
Photochromic lenses will not react if you are behind a car windscreen or wearing a polycarbonate motorcycle visor as these barriers will prevent the majority of UV light from penetrating.

Two filter categories of light reacting lenses
We can supply two categories of photochromic lenses with the RX TAC-3:
- Filter category 3 photochromic lenses go from 20% light transmission in bright, sunny conditions to clear indoors
- Filter category 4 photochromic lenses go from 6% light transmission in very bright conditions (at 10 degrees Centigrade) to 92% light transmission indoors (a slight tint like a flesh tone). Cat 4 sunglasses are suitable for use in snow and glacier trekking.
Adapts to a photochromic sports goggle
Fit the supplied soft gasket and adjustable headband to use the RX TAC-3 as an effective pair of photochromic low profile goggles, providing excellent wind, sun, glare, and debris protection. This makes them an ideal choice for winter sports and off-road cycling as well as outdoor ball sports such as football and tennis.
The RX TAC-3 is light and very comfortable to wear, either as a goggle or as sunglasses, and yet, with its strong TR-90 frames and ballistic rated lenses, this eyewear is tough enough to stand the rigours of regular sports use.

Select either filter category 3 or 4 photochromic and then add your eyewear to the Basket.
If you want your lenses to be supplied glazed to your optical prescription, at no extra cost, please download and email to us a prescription form specifying your requirements.
The RX TAC-3 is suitable for prescriptions up to Sphere + or - 4.0 and Cylinder + or - 3.0, although if you have a high Sphere and Cylinder measurement it is best to check with us before ordering that the eyewear is suitable for your prescription.
Because all RX TAC-3 lenses are bespoke, they are exempt from our standard returns policy as we would be unable to recoup the manufacturing cost from our optical supplier.

Do you require an additional set of lenses?
The lenses in the RX TAC-3 are interchangeable. If you want a second set of lenses, for example yellow lenses for use in low light conditions, you need to return to this page after adding the RX TAC-3 to your basket, and then select your second lens type from this drop down menu.
If you require mirror lenses, please specify which colour for the mirror coating (silver, gold, gunmetal, blue, red). You will need to allow 4 extra days for the mirror coating process.
